Not-So-Foggy In London Town

What a beautiful night in London town.
Christmas and New Years never felt so lively in any city, as it does in London.
Big Ben, or the Great Bell of the clock next to the Palace of Westminster on the northern end, was still getting his facelift next to the Palace of Westminster as I walked across the bridge and drew in a deep breath of "fresh" London air. By and by the pedestrians walked and traffic whizzed past; a black cab, a peddle biker, or my personal favorite the big red double decker buses. Although the sun wasn't shining, at the very least there wasn't any fog, and people kept going about their merry way. Maybe they were excitedly walking home for the night, or just getting started and moving to their next pub for a cold beer or hot chocolate, or, maybe they were just out for a late night stroll in one of the most beautiful cities in the world to adore during the Christmas season.

Down by the river Thames, I sought out the London Eye. Since it started its rounds in the year 2000, it keeps getting more and more beautiful with every gaze at its colorful pearly pods. The London Eye is the tallest wheel in Europe, and the most popular tourist attraction in the UK that you can pay for. Almost 4 million people visit this thing every year and for good reason, its views of London are breathtaking.

And then there was something I hadn't seen before. I stumbled across an abandoned taxi tunnel under Waterloo Station that had been turned into a major graffiti hub. It was a tad creepy, just walking around down there in the dark, honestly I was lost, but me being the silly Canadian tourist I ended up being handsomely rewarded for her adventurous spirit with quite the sight to see. Stretching for a couple hundred meters, this is Leake street now transformed into a psychedelic trip through a real life rabbit hole. The artists also acknowledged "The Vaults," an art center directly above this eye pleasing Alice-in-Wonderland masterpiece. Even I was impressed that I could stumble upon such a cool place.

And so, dear ones, it was yet another wonderful atmosphere at Christmas time. No fog in London, and only happy days into 2019. May the next year be as fun and action packed as all the last.

A very merry Christmas, and a happy new year!
