THE OLD, NEW AND THE NOSTALGIC

Well, it's been a rather eventful month...

Madrid is a place I had already been, but this time I had time to go to a live Flamenco show and sit in the very front row. Just to clear up any confusion, Flamenco is a cultural art particularly from the province of Andalusia in Spain. The poor and oppressed used it as their musical expression back in the day. To me, it was honestly like watching tap dancing in combination of I don't know what.

Now, aside from the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, Dervish dancing is something I had never seen before. I found it very interesting that the reason why they continuously spin around in circles is because it is a symbolic imitation of the planets in the Solar System orbiting around the sun. It was such a nice, almost angelic like presence these men had in their white gowns twirling round, their skirts flowing effortlessly around them.

The Duomo, or Milan Cathedral was the highlight for me. It also took almost 600 years to make, which I thought was equally as impressive when I can’t even sit still for half an hour. Italian food is something I always look forward to, especially the gelato!

Now New York is also a place I have been before. It was such a pleasant feeling walking the streets again. The concrete jungle where dreams are made of of course,
I took a walk down 5th Avenue and had some of the best coffee I've had in a long time, I even got to see Taylor Swift! (On a billboard)

Lastly was Perth. Now, I did live in Australia for 2 years, so even though I had not been to this city in particular, it was still such a nice walk down memory lane to be back in Australia. This is from King's Park, the view was just gorgeous.
