OH SAY, CAN YOU SEE?

And so, it was back to work for Miss Bailey. Although it had been quite difficult to leave the carefree, entertaining, infinitely satisfying environment that comes with traveling alone and without schedule, there comes a time when a person simply must return to work. And, regular showering habits.

Since returning back to Doha from Cambodia, to the overstated trolley-dolly life full of glitter glam and gloss, there were new destinations on the rise. The U.S.A was part of this new adventure. Yes, since we last left our hero, (that would mean me) Philadelphia and Miami have been explored and may be spoken about.

The are 2 things I feel worth mentioning about Philadelphia. It is home to the oldest street in the United States, and also boasts Betsy Ross's house, the woman who sewed the first American flag in May of 1776. I visited both of these venues, but to be honest all I actually took a picture of was the most delicious sandwich I've ever tasted, the Philly Cheese-steak. It's an absolute terror for your arteries. You have to try it!!

Something else I realized is that it was cold in Philadelphia. Really, really cold. Too cold. Almost too cold for my Canadian liking, which I think is an indication that I am becoming unCanadianized, and joining the masses of warm-blooded people who find a chill in the air even if it's plus 20 degrees Celsius outside. Oh good lord help me, I've become soft!

Miami was everything you would expect from Miami. Positively charming in every way possible, lovely down to it's core and I enjoyed every minute in this city to the utmost. There is a thriving street art scene that was of particular fascination for me. The beaches and palm trees, shopping, high-rise buildings I could never grow tired of, and I also recommend going to the Everglades if you get the chance. A tour with crocodiles, turtles, and gorgeous birds that feels like it's quite genuine because you are in their natural habitat. But above all, it was warm!
